What Is Fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a chronic neuromuscular disorder that affects mostly women. There is no known cause for the disorder but the most common belief is that the sufferer has had an extended period of pain that has resulted in a chemical imbalance affecting the pain center of the brain.

Symptoms will vary with each person in overall scope and intensity. A diagnosis of fibromyalgia is generally reached after ruling out all other similar disorders for which a doctor can test and an assessment of all symptoms the patient experiences.

There are lifestyle changes that you can make that will help you to more effectively deal with the daily effects of the fibromyalgia.
1. Continuity of care with a doctor who is attuned to your overall symptoms and care needs
2. Daily physical exercise that is within your personal physical limitations
3. Medical management through prescription medications and/or herbal supplements
4. Maintaining a healthy diet
5. Allowing time for plenty of rest
6. Learning techniques for dealing with stress
